These prisoners were the survivors of the Bataan Death March. Included within the 6th Army Ranger Battalion were the Alamo Scouts and Philippino Scouts. The Movie is set to be released August 12, three days before the 60th Anniversary of V-J Day!

Army of Occupation Medal (Japan) 

All Veterans of the 6th Infantry Division who served at least 30 days from September 3, 1945 to June 29, 1949 in Korea as a part of the Army of Occupation of Japan are entitled to the Army of Occupation Medal. Here is a link that displays the medal as well as the criteria for for which the award in earned. Check downloads on this site for further details. Veterans of the 6th Infantry should apply for this medal!

Fire in 1973 Destroyed Many Army Personnel Records 

This tragic fire in 1973 in St. Louis, Missouri, destroyed 75 percent of US Army military records during the period including most of the records from WW II involving the 6th Infantry Division. Now the only way to obtain records is largely a task of reconstruction from other sources.
