Thanks to Sam Christenson for the story of his Dad’s involvement with the 6th on Luzon. My Daddy, Andrew Sharpe, was there too. He was a Staff Sargent with Company H. This story was of particular interest to me because Daddy’s job was to carry an 80 lb base plate for a machine gun on his back. The plate was used to keep the gun from sinking into the sand as it was being fired.
I also want to thank everyone associated with the preserving and sharing the history and memories of the 6th, and the fine men who were part of it.
Do you still offer these in a downloadable PDF anymore? I used to print them off to read them, I have a difficult time reading things like this on a computer screen.
