Hello,
I did my basic training at Fort Leonard Wood in 1955 I do have the yearbook, but no official documents of my service are there any ways to find my records. I do have the yearbook but nothing else. On the cover it reads Sixth Armored Division and in small letters 93rd AFA Bn, Sept 1955.
Is there any way to find my records my SN was 21937604 my name as it appears in the book is Alphonse J. DiCara
Any help will be greatly appreciated
Thank you for your question. The Sixth “Armored” Division is not the Sixth “Infantry” Division. The terms are not interchangeable. By 1955, the Sixth “Infantry” Division was at Fort Ord California and no longer stationed at Ft. Leonard Wood. Your best bet is to submit a request for you service record using Standard Form 180 to request and obtain your service record. Good luck with your search.
